A brief history of the choir
The choir started as a meeting between fiends in 1989 under the name of the Top Notes Adult Choir. The aim was to create a social friendly atmosphere and to sing together as well as possible. In 1995 the name changed to Westbury Singers when Paul Seath joined as Conductor and Choirmaster. Paul was followed by Maeve Hunter and then by Amy Slevin. Barbara Rushbridge took over as Musical Director in the Autumn of 2014.
The choir has made trips to Hanover, Oporto and Bordeaux.
Westbury Singers reached its 20th anniversary year in 2015, celebrating with a boat trip along the River Avon to a tea garden for a cream tea, with singing and a birthday cake on the return journey.
