A New Broom

 

After Paul’s departure, a selection process was undertaken and Maeve Hunter was appointed as our new Musical Director. Maeve was a recent graduate from University College, Cork and brought a variety of new ideas to the choir. We gave concerts at new venues including Staple Hill Methodist Church and The Lord Mayor’s Chapel on College Green. At the AGM in September 2009, Hilary Morse was elected as our Chairperson following the resignation through ill-health of Helen Lewis who had taken on the post the previous year.  Hilary set about maintaining our touring tradition with a visit to Maeve’s home city of Cork. Unfortunately, for various reasons, in the end this destination proved not possible, but not to be thwarted in our wandering desires, Hilary led us back to Hannover for a second visit.
