60 years of Twinning

 

2007 marked 60 years of twinning between the cities Bristol, Bordeaux and Hannover. This anniversary was particularly poignant for our Musical Director Paul Seath as his father was one of the original people involved in setting up the link and Paul himself was one of the first youngsters involved in an exchange. A year long programme of events was organised by the Twinning Committees and we were very happy to be invited to sing at the Grand City Picnic held in the grounds of Bristol Zoo in July. Three stages were set up in the grounds and there was a day long stream of music from them. We were also very glad to welcome back our twin choir from Hannover Canta Nova. They did a spot at the Zoo but also sang in Bristol Cathedral on the Sunday as part of a celebratory Evensong service. We held a party on the Saturday evening and was lovely to meet so many old friends again.
