Two New Faces

With the departure of Amy for pastures new, we set about finding a new M.D. which proved much more difficult than previously. Angela Hammond, our regular accompanist, held the fort nobly for a number of weeks for which we were very grateful. Eventually, through the good offices of David Ogden, organist at Westbury Parish Church and Musical Director of Exultate, we were put in touch with Barbara Rusbridge, a member of Exultate and local resident. We were very pleased when Barbara agreed to take on the role of M.D. and propel us forward once more.

 

We were also Chair-less as David Cahill had found the demands of his newly appointed role as Professor at Bristol University could not be squared with the needs of Chair of the Singers. He therefore decided to stand down from the Chair at the 2014 AGM. After reflection and with some trepidation, Margie Bushell agreed to become the second female Chair of Westbury Singers.
