Bristol Children’s Help Society
The Society has a long history of helping children in poor circumstances in Bristol and so our concert of Christmas 2007 was in aid of their funds. The Chairman of the Society is Mike Hardwick, a former Bristol primary school headteacher, and he gave a very interesting interval talk about their work. One of their chief projects is Barton Camp which provides holidays for children who might not otherwise enjoy one. So as a follow up to our fundraising, we had a social walk which took us up to the top of Crook’s Peak in the morning and then a guided tour around the campsite in the afternoon. It was really rewarding to see where our funding was being used.
